Kia ora, hello!

I have worked in the education sector for over 25 years as a Teacher, Educational Leader, Coach and Counsellor. I am married with two adult children and two rescue dogs. I enjoy running, gardening, cooking, walking my dogs, having a coffee with friends, a good sense of humour and living mindfully as a part of nature with much gratitude and appreciation.

Counselling / Coaching

I completed my Master of Counselling at the University of Auckland, and work as a person-centred counsellor & coach, accessing an eclectic kete of modalities dependent on what works best for you. I am genuine, non-judgmental, empathic, down to earth and very approachable. I believe strongly in the effectiveness of building positive therapeutic relationships and have worked extensively with young people in schools as well as adults and whānau in private practice.  I accept WINZ funding support for counselling and I am contracted to Telus Health and Clearhead EAP (Employee Assistance Programmes),

Ongoing learning

I am committed to ongoing professional development to improve my counselling  and supervision practices.  I am now moving into my third year of a PhD at the University of Auckland (2024)  interested in diverse experiences of spirituality with nature in the context of the climate crisis through Indigenous, religious and scientific lenses. I have completed a Diploma in Positive Psychology and Well-being and  have extensive training in the modality of ACT (Acceptance Commitment Therapy).
